In this tutorial we will show you how to install Drupal on local desktops and laptops. We will show you the simplest way to get up and running quickly, with no server admin skills required using Acquia’s DAMP Stack Installer. The tutorial will walks through installing Drupal on a Windows 7 computer, but the steps are nearly identical for the Mac OS and *NIX workstations. Local installations are the best way to develop and play with Drupal. In less than 10 minutes, you will have your local computer setup to run as many Drupal sites as you like.
